Where to Find the Best Burgers in Bath

Undoubtedly one of the most popular meals for eating out or from the comfort of your own home, the mighty burger is a favourite wherever you go.  With National Burger Day on the 27 of August what better way to celebrate than by enjoying a delicious burger stacked high with irresistible toppings and the obligatory side of chips.

Whatever your preferences are, you’ll be sure to find a burger that satisfies your cravings and dietary requirements without compromising on the taste. Here are some of the best places to enjoy a burger in Bath:

Schwartz Bros

Schwartz Bros is a long established burger place in Bath with most locals swearing by the good quality burgers on offer. They use non GM Rape Seed Oil for the frying, their cheese is unprocessed and non hydrogenated too.

Not only do they have a great selection of beef burgers but they also have an extensive vegetarian and vegan selection to choose from. Favourite vegetarian options include the ‘Chickless Vege Special’ and ‘Hawaiian Chickless Vege Special’.

They may look like your average take away burger joint but the exceptional quality points to the opposite, definitely one to try for yourself.

The Ivy

If you’re looking to enjoy your burger in beautifully decorated surroundings then look no further than burgers at The Ivy. Their burger is one of the best I’ve ever tasted and costs £16 - not bad considering the excellent service and opulent setting.

Enjoy your meal with a delicious drink from their cocktail menu and if you have any space left try out their show stopping chocolate bombe as dessert.

Magu Diner

Found on Moorland road, this independent burger place has a mind blowing selection of weird and wonderful burgers on their menu. It’s always good to know where your food comes from and at Magu their ingredients are locally sourced from the surrounding areas, including baps from a Bristol bakery and halloumi from Chew Valley.

Make sure you’re extra hungry for one of their ‘Mac N Stack’ burgers: two beef patties plus macaroni cheese, or perhaps their ‘Flying Lotus’ burger: beef patty topped with biscoff lotus and pecan butter...drool!

Bear Grills

With a name like that you can trust the menu is just as inventive. Situated in the pretty area of Larkhall in Bath (just 20 minutes walk from the city centre), their take-away and delivery service allows you to enjoy their locally sourced burgers at home.

Their crispy chicken burger at Bear Grills is especially popular as it’s marinated for a full 18 hours for extra juiciness and overall delectable flavour. Even better, why not order one of their ice cream based milkshakes, which is by far the best drink to enjoy with a burger.

Prices start at a very reasonable £5.65.

Marlborough Tavern

If you’ve spent your day walking around and admiring the sights of the Royal Crescent or Victoria Park, make sure you visit Marlborough Tavern nestled right in between the two at the top of Marlborough buildings.

With a beautiful beer garden to enjoy your meal in, this pub serves a truly top class beef burger accompanied with a unique bacon jam relish. They’ve also recently added a lamb burger with harissa and mint yoghurt that sounds just as delicious.
