How To Have A Pamper Day In Manchester

Whether it’s a day out with your mum or best friend, or a well deserved ‘me day’, you can’t go wrong with a bit of pampering. With an abundance of hotels offering spa days for a hefty price, why not make the most of what Manchester has to offer and pick and choose the best of the best to make a memorable day?

Start your day with a swim at Bannatyne Whitworth street.

Though they have a dedicated spa in the Quay street branch just down the road, the pool in the basement of their Whitworth street feels luxurious and thoroughly relaxing. Quiet in the morning on weekdays, you can often find you have the pool to yourself. With a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna it's a great place to spend the morning. With a day pass at just £15 you don’t even have to be a member to go!

If it’s sunny, have a light lunch at cloud 23.

Sitting in the heart of the Hilton Hotel in Beetham Tower and known for its classic cocktails, did you also know this sky high restaurant has a lunch menu? Treat yourself to some yummy food while sipping herbal tea, cocktails or champagne while you take it the panoramic sights. From £25 per person, this is a must for any pamper day in the city.

If it’s raining- a reasonable thing to plan for in Manchester- head to The Refuge on Oxford street.

You'll find a gorgeous atmosphere and equally gorgeous food. With small plates and sharing dishes with flavours taken from all over the world there is something for everyone. Their lunch menu is decadent and you’ll feel spoilt surrounded by the architecture and style of the building.

Following lunch, get your nails done at Blow.

Found in Debenhams on Market Street, it’s a great place to get your nails done and fit in a little bit of retail therapy. They offer classic manicures and pedicures as well as gel nails and extensions. Book online now and get there promotional £20 gel nails offer- usually £30.

Follow your nails with a facial from Skin HQ on St. John street.

I recommend the mesothetic deep cleanse facial at £45, which consists of a cleanse, tone, exfoliation, steam treatment and tailored oil treatment, which matches what your skin needs to specific oils. The treatment is finished with a relaxing moisturising facial massage. Nichola looked after me very well, and my skin looked and felt great- I’m looking forward to going back again soon! Skin HQ is also opening in Bradford and Birmingham city centre- so Birmingham girls need to keep an eye out!

Finish off your day with some quiet time.

If it’s sunny, you need to head to Cathedral gardens. Take a blanket and a book and soak in the sunshine. If it’s raining, head over to the Cat Cafe on High Street in the Northern Quarter and snuggle up with a feline or two. For £12 for an hours admission, you get unlimited hot and cold drinks.

Not into cuddly cats? Head to Chapter One Books on Lever Street in the Northern Quarter.

A coffee shop and independent coffee shop. With a great selection of hot and cold drinks and cakes, wind down with a good book, hot chocolate and sweet treat.

Not into reading? Listen to a podcast or an audio book.

And City Girls can have an Audible membership for £3.99 a month for the first three months.
