Behind The Scenes of Brighton’s favourite Influencers

As we all know, Brighton is a place full of creatives, but recently there has been a noticeable rise in the amount of stunning blogger feeds that show Brighton in its best light. The Brighton Influencer Spotlight is a series of Brighton babes that are creating stunning Instagram content and always find the prettiest houses to get their #OOTD.

Spending time on Instagram is now also a guide to find the newest places to eat and see the loveliest food before you’ve even looked up the menu. This interview series introduces fabulous influencers who live in Brighton or the surrounding area and take advantage of the best of what the city has to offer to create their content.

Next up is Ali Hemsley, 24, a full time blogger and mental health and chronic illness advocate. Ali has recently started taking up public speaking opportunities to raise awareness of mental health and chronic illness. Ali lives with her boyfriend and her border collie puppy called Piper, nearby to Brighton.

How did you start as an influencer?

After using exercise and wellbeing to help manage my chronic illness, I started documenting my fitness journey on Instagram and writing about how my ME and Fibromyalgia had affected my mental health. I would snap a quick fitness selfie on the way to the gym or share food pictures - and somehow started growing! I injured my ankle and so had to take a step back from the gym, but didn't want to stop sharing my life on Instagram... so I transitioned into fashion!

What do you love about Brighton?

Brighton is such a vibrant and diverse city that embraces everything and everyone! There's always something exciting happening and something to surprise you.

Best places to shop in Brighton?

I'm a sucker for the high street and my favourite places are Topshop, New Look and Home Sense!

Favourite place to eat in Brighton?

Dos Sombreros - a great Mexican restaurant where my boyfriend and I had one of our first dates. Have a shot of honey tequila!
