Activity Review: Go Ape at Temple Newsam
Are you ready to unleash your wild side and do your best Tarzan impression? Look no further than Go Ape, the ultimate treetop adventure.
Nestled within a peaceful patch of woodland in Temple Newsam, Go Ape offers a unique outdoor experience that promises excitement and challenges suitable for all ages, as I noticed plenty of children and families as well as groups of adults challenging themselves on stag and hen dos.
Before we were allowed to begin the staff showed me and my friend - along with a small family – a short safety film as well as securing our harnesses ready to embark on our journey.
The Treetop challenge pushed us to our limits physically as we climbed our way up large nets, walked across precarious bridges and channelled our inner monkey soaring through the trees on the many ziplines- with the longest being 60m.
Thankfully, I’m not scared of heights, and I relished the opportunity to be high amongst the trees, with some platforms being 15m high! However, it did take me a little while to take the plunge for the Tarzan swing as the drop was quite far!
The average duration is estimated between 2 to 3 hours - and we managed to last 2 and a half before we started to feel tired and hungry. it really felt like a proper workout! However, I would do it all again.
Go Ape Temple Newsam is situated south of Halton bordering the Temple Newsam Park and Golf course. There is a car park located close to the entrance and bus routes within a 25-minute walk. There are toilets on site as well as picnic benches and space for spectators to watch.
Just make sure that if you want to hold on to your phone, use a lanyard to capture one-of-a-kind memories.
