CGN Wardrobe Edit: July 2021
City Girl Networks monthly fashion and beauty edit, curating some of our favourite products from the brands we loveā¦
Once reserved for Autumn, earth tones are big this month in fashion. We're seeing a lot of browns, forest greens and burnt oranges in new-in clothing. It's time to fold away your neon t-shirts and invest in these muted and sophisticated statement pieces that will stand the test of time.
LONG GEOMETRIC PRINT DRESS, £149 MASSIMO DUTTI
For July, we're going "grown up cool" and no one does it better than Massimo Dutti. The dress is reminiscent of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman understated elegance (races scene anyone?). We love the square neckline and impeccable tailoring. The beautiful cut outs on the back of this dress add a casual sex to the look and the browns and neutrals in this palette give a softer edge.
COURTNEY SANDALS, £90 VAGABOND
Pair with the Essy sandal by Vagabond. The sand colour balances the heaviness of the sandal making it more workable with lighter colours than the classic black chunky sandal dominating the summer footwear scene. We particularly love the use of the platform sole; once reserved for the Spice Girls, interestingly the contrast between the colour and heaviness adds an element of luxe to the shoe.
ODIN, £49 QUAY AUSTRALIA
Quay Australia is a brand new to our accessories radar and we predict it will be a firm favourite for affordable eyewear. Aviators remain in style year on year and we're loving the vaguely androgynous brow bar on the ODIN sunnies, making them the perfect glasses to add to this polished look.
LILACISM BY ESSIE, £7.99 LOOK FANTASTIC
Injecting colour into an otherwise monochromatic look is a skill few have mastered. Our tip? Take it to the nails. A subtle wash of colour on the nail can prove instrumental. The cool tones in this Essie polish in Lilacism compliments the warm browns and creams without drawing from the balanced neutrality of the look.
OVERSIZED RUCHED CLUTCH, £20, ASOS DESIGN
Everyone knows and lusts after the Bottega Veneta pouch. The simplicity in the style means this clutch will take you from day to night. This ASOS bag is a great alternative if the price of the original has you reeling.
Wear strolling along the coast on your Cornwall staycation or out for drinks with the girls, this look will seriously amp your style creds. Here at CityGirl, we love to see your variations of our wardrobe edits so @ us on Instagram with your neutrals for summer!
