In a world saturated in conformity and AI-generated everything, real authentic voices are sought after.
Now, more than ever, we crave connections. We want to feel part of something real, and not just a cog in a machine.
As a flight attendant for many years, I was given more than just a window seat to the world.
Every flight was an opportunity to see the inner workings of people and places.
Sometimes, that insight was outright infuriating. Other times, it was incredible to witness.
I’m definitely going to write a book about it all one day, so stay tuned.
And I know I’m supposed to go on and share my Phoenix moment or the great epiphany that I had.
But the truth is, I never had one.
Dedicating my skills to helping women find their voice and make a change in this world is something I always knew I’d do; something I was always passionate about.
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t outraged by the injustices, double standards and outright stupid in this world.
And I have my parents to thank for that.
They made sure I knew who the real icons were - Emmeline Pankhurst, Gloria Steinem, Simone de Beauvoir, Ruth Ginsburg, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Coretta Scott King, not to mention all the literary greats.
They never tried to sugarcoat anything - I was given To Kill a Mockingbird to read at 7 years old.
And I was encouraged to be different - When all the other kids came to school dressed as Disney characters and Princesses, I was Dian Fossey (my mum’s still outraged that I didn’t win).
As a copywriter (and a leader in my community), I empower and unite purpose-driven women who dare to disrupt the status quo.
