Why do we need the City Girl Creatives?

There are numerous barriers in place that are preventing Gender Equity in the Creative Economy

It has become increasingly recognised that the Creative Economy (and beyond) was built around a patriarchal, able-ist system. A system that is not representative to the overall population, and directly harms the progress of society.

Creativity is built on stories, yet so many are unwritten or unheard.

Together, we will build a community of creatives that represents all women. Trans, non-binary and cis-gendered. Disabled, neurodivergent and able-bodied. Mothers, step-mothers, foster mothers, not-mothers. A multi-cultured community, based in the UK.

Our goals

  1. Eliminate the gender pay gap within the creative economy

  2. Inspire creative collaboration for green, sustainable growth

  3. Change workplace culture to create a more representative and diverse creative economy

The City Girl Creatives is for all women working in the creative economy. This includes Advertising, Architecture, Arts and Crafts, Beauty, Broadcasting, Content Creators, Design, Events, Fashion, Film, Gaming, Marketing, Media, Music, Performing Arts, PR, Photography, Publishing, Research & Development, Software and Video.
