Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland

Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland (RCTN) is a charity that provides services to women and girls who live, work or study in Tyneside and Northumberland. RCTN are independent of the criminal justice system including the police and their services are completely free and confidential.RCTN provide support for women and girls over 13 who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, some of their support includes access to:

  • Confidential Counselling and Advocacy

  • Personal and Confidential Helpline and Email Support

  • Specialist Information, Online Training and ISVA services.

Newcastle Women’s Aid is a confidential and personable organisation run for women, by women. This organisation exists for the benefit of all women and their children who have been affected by domestic abuse, through the provision of information, advice and support. This group recognises that violence against women results from the unequal position of women in society. No men are involved in the decision-making process of Newcastle Women’s Aid and they aim to reduce the incidents of domestic abuse and to empower women and children to live free from fear.
