Pregnancy and birth are truly life changing experiences. Would you like an experienced private midwife to be there for you, every step of the way? At the end of the phone if you are feeling worried, your routine appointments (at home) at a time to suit your lifestyle, with you for the birth of your baby and supporting you in the early weeks.

This can be in place of NHS care, or in addition to it, according to your situation and preferences. I also provide pregnancy and postnatal care for those having planned c sections. After many years in the NHS I now offer my services to a few families/birthing people each year. I am a fully qualified, experienced and insured midwife with lots of specialist experience to draw on, to give you a very personal and time rich service.

In the last few years about half of my clients have chosen to birth at home, but we always talk through options to work out what is best for you and your baby. Few of my clients have had induction of labour, and only for very specific reasons. I am not anti-intervention, but support personalised care and balanced discussion of risks and benefits of any medicalisation of pregnancy and birth.

Natural can be absolutely wonderful, but sometimes we can help when nature wasn’t getting things quite right. The skill of a midwife is being able to sit quietly and watch, whilst knowing when and how to intervene! The midwifery care and appointments I offer are designed to meet your particular needs.

Whether you experience a straightforward pregnancy or a very complex one, research indicates that continuity of midwifery care brings many benefits including fewer premature births and enhanced safety for parent and baby. I have extensive experience working with those who have experienced previous loss or trauma.

As well as full packages of care I offer various single appointments including for pre-conception checks, to discuss specific issues of concern in pregnancy, or for NIPT (chromosomal testing). Many people find the early days with their baby challenging. No need to feel under pressure to attend appointments at a clinic - I can come to you!

A voucher for postnatal care at home is a lovely gift for a friend or colleague. I’m a midwife and love talking about the miracles I see daily as a midwife. I also know that pregnancy is very tough or frightening for some people. I am glad to be able to offer help.
