Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please check that your post is in line with our Facebook Guidelines.

It may be that your post is being re-directed to one of our monthly threads: Jobs, Housing, Business, Helping Hands or Giveaway. Manchester Girl & Cardiff Girl also have a beauty thread.

If you post is of a sensitive nature, we may ask for a content warning & appropriate spacing to be added to protect our more vulnerable members.

If you are still unsure why your post has been declined please email team@citygirlnetwork.com

  • Please utilise our Events Thread which you can locate via the announcement/featured tab and add the information about your event as a comment.

We do not allow non-official CGN events to be posted on the main page.

  • Our threads are posts that are published at the beginning of every month and tabbed to the top of the group for our members to chat about those particular topics, leaving the group clear from promotion so our members can make connections and ask for recommendations, so they can belong where they are.

If you are looking to post about business, jobs, housing, helping hands (fundraisers, charity requests etc) or giving something away - please find the appropriate thread and add a comment to be involved in the monthly conversation.

  • Our Facebook communities are powered by dedicated teams of volunteers so we appreciate your patience in waiting for your post to be approved by your team.

On a very rare occasion, your post will take 2 working days to action.

If you’d like to support your community by joining the volunteer efforts, please email steph@citygirlnetwork.com stating which city in your message.

  • Please be assured that our team does provide feedback - however, if there is a technical fault - please ensure your post fits our guidelines, that relevant content warnings & spacing is used if appropriate before resubmitting for approval.

If your post goes against our safeguarding policies or we feel you may be in danger we will reach out directly via FB messenger.

If you are still unsure why your post has been declined please email team@citygirlnetwork.com

  • All cities apart from Bristol have the anonymous feature in use so if you are unable to access it please check your FB settings or reach out to Facebook directly.

For Bristol, to request an anon post please DM the Bristol Girl FB Page. They only share anonymous posts on a Monday.

We encourage for any friendship requests that you do not use the anonymous function to get the best reception, however, we will still allow anon friendships requests for those that are anxious about reaching out for the first time.

  • We use Content Warnings to warn people about sensitive content or things that they might find upsetting and to protect people who are overcoming trauma. We can never predict what someone else might find distressing but these are the common themes and topics for which we ask that you provide a warning for.
