4 Brighton Musicians You Should Know About

I moved to Brighton a year and a half ago to study music marketing. I love discovering new music, fit for every occasion; whether that’s dancing while doing the cleaning on a Sunday morning or feeling all the feels on a bus on a rainy evening.

My 4 favourite artists are The 1975, Wolf Alice, Rainbow Kitten Surprise and Fontaines D.C. but moving to Brighton has opened my eyes to the incredible grassroots music scene we have here. There’s always a show to go and see, or a new artist to fall in love with. It's a city of dreams and dreams come true!

Here are 4 of the artists I think you should know about, All from Brighton and all with shows coming up very soon.

Attic’O’Matic

The sound of Attic’O’Matic is perfect for an after party where you've all piled into your friend’s tiny flat and the Alcohol has worn off and you’re all chilling out, appreciating the people you have around you. The fusions of jazz drums, RnB and synths set a juxtaposition of complexity and comfort.

The band have just returned from their national tour and released their new track “Dun Dun” on 10th March.

Expect all the vibes and a chilled evening but prepare to let go and have a bit of a boogie. This band are bound to leave you feeling cool as hell

Tamara Kramer

Missing sunny picnics in the park? Give Tamara Kramer’s latest EP a listen! Mixing jazz, pop and neo-soul with a beautiful soft voice, ‘Bachelor of Science’, Kramer’s Debut EP, is Summer in a sound. If you love the sounds of Arlo Parks and Elle King, you're sure to like Tamara Kramer and her songs will make any summer’s day an even happier one.

ARXX

If Royal blood and CHVRCHES had 2 children, they would be named Clara and Hanni and they would form a band called ARXX. This duo brings an energetic concoction of alt-rock, punk and pop. They're the perfect Soundtrack for a road trip with your best friend!

And you have not one but two opportunities to see this brilliant pair in the upcoming months - Lucky you! They will be playing at Resident Records on 31st March and at The Great Escape in May.

Expect high energy, lots of jumping and girl power all round. ARXX are blowing up big time, having even bagged Clara Amfo’s ‘Hottest Record’ for their single ‘Ride or Die’. You do not want to miss out!

Slant

Slant are the band for you to sing along to in your bedroom when you’re pretending to be a pop star. Describing themselves as “neo-glam”, the band bring a sound of nostalgia and passion. These guys have supported Wet Leg on their UK and Ireland tour. Enough said?
