GingerBeard Preserves: The Perfect Bristol-Made Stocking Filler

Who doesn’t love cheese, crackers and chutneys over Christmas? It’s a staple amongst many families across the festive season.

And whilst “cheese” may be the assumed hero of the the cheese board, it’s the preserves that are the true stars of the show.

This is where Bristol Indie Favourite GingerBeard Preserves come in.

GingerBeard Preserves is a great Bristol based company which was founded in 2014. Their story is pretty cool.

From what began as a business in their flat kitchen grew into a Kingswood workshop. From the very start, they’ve ensured that everything they make is in small batches to maintain their high-quality approach.

A Bristol foodie’s dream: their range

We love that their range is an elevated variation of every-day essentials, which makes everything super usable. Let’s be honest, how many times do you buy jars, and they end up slowly moving to the back of the cupboard as it’s overwhelming deciding what to do with them.

There are a few flavours that stuck out to us:

  • Beer and Bacon Chilli Jam: This was incredible. It had a lovely deep flavour, and the bacon taste cut through perfectly. We could honestly eat this all day.

  • Sweet Chilli and Limoncello Sauce: What a lovely combination! Taking a twist on your classic sweet chilli makes this feel so much more lux. This would be incredible as a dip alongside your picky bits.

  • Curry Mustard: There’s always one that wants mustard on their Christmas dinner, well… why not go the extra step whilst you’re at it. This is super fun and great taste to perk up your veggies and meat this festive season.

So why are these the perfect Bristol stocking fillers?

For something small-batch and made in our very own Bristol these are practical, affordable and offer unique flavour combinations.

They’re also SUPER award-winning. You only have to take a look at their website to come across the long list (National Chilli awards, Great Taste, Taste of the West (Silver and Gold).

Not only this, but they’re stocked in so many lovely independents across Bristol:

  • Southville Deli (all 3 stores)

  • Better Food (all 4 stores)

  • Hot Sauce Emporium, St Nicks

  • Dave Giles Butchers

  • Elemental, Cheltenham Road

  • The Mall Deli

  • We Make Bristol

  • Cheese Connection, Wapping Wharf

Next time you see them on the shelf, let us know, we’ll need a restock! We can’t wait to get started on these on our grazing board.
