Review: D'amazonia
D’amazonia is a pioneering natural tea brand that boasts “ The power of the Rainforest in a cup”. All teas are made in the UK and use only the highest quality, natural ingredients. All of their blends are heavily researched and have undergone extensive testing with over 50 formulations trialled before finding the perfect botanical blends to help you achieve optimal wellbeing.
What’s more, the company was founded by a mother-daughter team from Brazil and at City Girl Network, we are all about celebrating incredible female entrepreneurs. They are passionate about health and fitness and are on a mission to create a collection of teas that celebrate and utilise the potent, medicinal and energising herbs and plants that have been used by natives of the Amazon for centuries.
I was really excited to try out their informed blends as a self-proclaimed caffeine addict and health and fitness enthusiast. I truly believe in the power of plants and have been trialling their beautifully balanced herbal teas this week to see if they can help me combat indigestion, avoid the post-coffee crash and help me wind-down in the evenings.
Benefits of drinking natural tea:
Just a few notable benefits of drinking D’amazonia tea include:
Improved Performance at work or working out
Increased Energy that is sustained all day
Avoid the dreaded Caffeine Crash
Reduced Bloating- amazing for “that time of the month”
Build Immunity - essential in these cold Winter months
Flavours:
The tea comes in three delicious, functional flavours:
1. Digestive Tea
2. Sleep Tea
3. Health and Fitness Tea
Digestive Tea: Minty, pure and so soothing.
Price £15 for 20 pyramid tea bags
I am a peppermint tea devotee as someone who suffers from constant indigestion and bloating. This has definitely replaced my bog-standard Aldi mint tea. It had so much flavour and was incredibly calming on my digestion.
It contains a powerful blend of 10 natural herbs to assist healthy digestion. The peppermint, lemon and pineapple base is full of antioxidants to help fight inflammation and stimulate the kidneys. The addition of fennel and lemongrass can help to curb sugar cravings and also fight inflammation in the body. Turmeric, rosemary and sage are thought to improve blood circulation, potentially preventing more serious diseases and thyme can help maintain a healthy blood pressure.
Sleep Tea: Fruity and calming with natural rose petals.
Price: £15 for 20 pyramid tea bags
I, like many, struggle to get a good night's sleep so I am always on the lookout for a natural alternative that I can integrate into my evening routine. D’Amazonia sleep tea has 14 sleep inducing ingredients that help calm your senses, reduce stress and anxiety and contains no caffeine. This was fruitier than I expected thanks to the addition of cranberry, orange and cherry, great for adding low-calorie flavour and a dose of vitamins.
Rose petals, lavender and chamomile are all popular ingredients shown to help calm our nervous system and promote sleep whilst the clever blend of additional ingredients like apple, hibiscus and lemon balm mean it might even help fight free radicals, lower cholesterol and stabilise blood sugar whilst you sleep. It gives a whole new meaning to beauty sleep!
Health and Fitness Tea: Zesty and fresh with a natural caffeine kick.
Price: £15 for 20 pyramid tea bags

This is a perfect natural pre-workout or 3pm boost. Packed with 12 powerful, research- backed ingredients, this tea promises to enhance your energy, reduce bloating and even promote fat burning. What’s more, the caffeine kick comes from three natural ingredients: Green Tea, Yerba Mate and Guarana meaning you get sustained energy and improved mental focus without the dreaded come down. Not only do you get the desired caffeine kick but you also benefit from all the added ingredients too!
I am a sucker for a new herbal tea, not to brag but I have probably worked my way through the entire shelf at Tesco. However, I have also had one-cup-too-many disappointing, bland or worse, “earthy” tasting cuppas so I was intrigued to see how D’Aamazonia would fare. They did not disappoint.
All of the teas were so potent, refreshing and tasted really natural but not in a “ I have drunk soil” kind of way. Not naming any names. The digestive tea is definitely going to become a staple post-lunch for me. The packaging was slick and aesthetic, great if you like to have your tea out on show like me, and I love the ethics of the brand.
