Dreamland Margate is BACK with amazing Summer Shows
The Margate Millennial Migration has become a well-documented trend across TikTok, Instagram, Tabloids and pub chats. It’s become a mecca for creatives, city dwellers and celebrities ever since the Turner Contemporary opened in 2011 and elevated this seaside town as an artist’s haven.
If you haven’t been yet, you’ve definitely thought a good few times about going. And we have just the excuse for you to hop on that London to Margate train.
Dreamland Margate – arguably the town’s most famous attraction – reopens its doors on weekends and holidays from the 1st April until the end of September with a whole host of epic shows!
This free-entry historic amusement park has undergone significant renovations this winter and opens with an exciting new family coaster, and new amusements such as Crazy Golf, a reimagined Mirror Maze and Pinball machines. These new attractions will sit alongside the much loved Scenic Railway, the UK’s oldest wooden roller coaster, and the iconic Big Wheel.
You can live your best life in the retro roller disco, the popular arcade and food and drink provided by handpicked local traders. Plus pop up activations, art installations and free outdoor screenings from the Scenic stage.
They’re also hosting their biggest ever line up on gigs, with Annie Mac, McFly, Olly Murs, NDubz, Chase and Status, Bastille, and so many more epic acts lighting up Dreamland.

Sam Mendes’ latest film Empire of Light was filmed at Dreamland and around Margate. Much of Empire of Light was filmed in the beautiful art deco seafront buildings, part of the Dreamland estate. Currently these iconic spaces are empty, however Dreamland has exciting plans to redevelop them as a multi-purpose live entertainment and performance venue.
Sky Atlantic are also releasing a new comedy drama series this year named ‘Dreamland’ by Merman (Bad Sisters, Motherland) starring the likes of Lily Allen, Freema Agyeman and Sheila Reid. Filmed last year, the series features Dreamland and other Margate locations.
