Fish4Ever Subscription Review: A Sustainable Canned Fish Bundle

The Fish4Ever bundle has transformed my working lunch routine and impressed my doctor. The latter point being an unintentional benefit from a month of devouring three fish meals a week, all of which hailing sustainable credentials and canned for ease and longevity.

Fish4Ever piqued my interest when I reviewed a series of Realfoods by Organico Pantry Products. After raving about the fact that the Spelt Pasta being the best I’ve ever had (and still is, by the way), I shone a light on the £30 canned fish subscription that they offer too. I felt it was great value for money and was intrigued by its ethical credentials.

Founder, Charles, and a local Fisherman

You can imagine my delight when that very same bundle landed at my door a few weeks later.

Before I delve into the detail, there are three reasons why I will be buying this bundle regularly:

  1. I got 24 meals out of it, making it incredible value for money.

  2. The ‘surprise’ element of the bundle (i.e. not knowing what I was going to get) made meal planning a lot more fun and interesting

  3. It’s a fast and nutritious protein option

The Fish4Ever Bundle is an easy, nutritious lunch option

I’m a remote worker; mostly working from home and opting for coworking spaces when travelling around the country to visit our City Girl Network communities.

Much like many within our community, I don’t tend to carve out much time for a lunch break. I tend to get fixated on the work at hand and go for the easiest lunch option that I eat at my desk: a.k.a. toast.

Over the past month, however, the Fish4Ever bundle has challenged me to mix up my desk lunch and drastically improve its nutritiousness. My skin and my gut are definitely very grateful for that.

Fish4Ever Products I’ll be buying again and again

As discussed earlier, the bundle itself is incredible value for money and the ‘surprise’ element makes for very fun cooking. So, truthfully, I’m more likely to be going for the bundle than I am individual products in my Realfoods by Organico Food Shop.

But, if I had to choose, my three go-to individual products that I always need in the cupboard are as follows.

  1. Skipjack Tuna Fillets in water: Tuna fillets in a jar was a huge revelation in my house and family WhatsApp groups. It’s the perfect lazy solo eater solution to a light snack – no need to cover up the tin, just screw the top back on and pop it in the fridge. Not to mention that the tuna itself is utterly delicious. They offer it with Olive Oil too, which is a truly indulgent treat, but the water one offers more “cupboard staple” versatility.

  2. Mackerel in Spring Water: Mackerel is such an underrated fish. It’s rich in nutritional value, with high levels of omega 3 fatty acids, protein and vitamins. The Mackerel in Spring Water was just “wow”; tastier than any tinned mackerel I’ve tried from a supermarket. A special mention here to the Organic Mustard Mackerel, loved by my mustard-loving partner (a quality we don’t share).

  3. Sardines in Olive Oil and Lemon: Sardines can be very hit and miss. But these were the biggest hit of the whole bunch. The olive oil with lemon made for the perfect pairing, and would bring any salad or rice cake to life. Personally, I had it with potatoes, tomato, basil and a little sprinkle of black pepper. Divine.

Realfoods by Organico Recipes you just have to try

I think you can all tell by now that I’m a huge fan of Realfoods by Organico. It’s ethical, sustainable, delicious and really easy to navigate. But one hugely underrated part of their website is the recipe page, curated by brilliant creators.

It’s a great hotspot for inspiration and ideas, with a special mention to the following.

The Fish4Ever Bundle was gifted in exchange for a review. I strongly and sincerely recommend that you try it out.
