Maisie Gervais is a freelance culinary creative who offers sweet and savoury home-baked products through her company, Gourmaisie (we love the pun)!

Gourmaisie cookies are an absolute treat! The smell of freshly baked goodness emerges before you even open the box to reveal the delicious treats inside. The cookies awaited the much-anticipated taste test, with 3 flavours in my box: milk chocolate chip; white chocolate and cranberry; nut, butter and double chocolate chip.

I was not disappointed! The cookies had the right level of softness, breaking with a satisfying crunch at each bite. A generous helping of chocolate chunks added a burst of flavour to each cookie, with the chocolate almost having a gooey centre to mix up the textures. Add to this the cranberries, which had to be the biggest and juiciest ones I’ve ever had, and you’ve found my ideal cookie combination!

Maisie is just starting to branch out into these letterbox cookies, with their launch due on her website in early 2022. But she is a culinary whizz, offering up cupcakes, occasion cakes and pastries, to name a few, whilst catering for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free customers.

The ethics of Gourmaisie are also a standout reason to support this local business. All baked goods are made with locally sourced ingredients, helping to support the Brighton community, whilst the packaging itself is completely recyclable, from the cardboard box and cookie wrapping through to the paper tape that came with a hand-written thank you note. Oh, and Maisie is a City Girl too - what’s not to love about this small business?!

Summed up in one sentence: A collection of delicious cookies, delivered straight to your door. Ideal as a gift for friends and family as a little reminder of how much you care.
