The Location

Mercure Milton Keynes is situated only 10 minutes from central Milton Keynes, on the Abbey Hill Golf Course perfect for the summer with the family with their outdoors mini golf course. The hotel is minutes away from our night scene, some delicious independent restaurants, Milton Keynes Museum and so much more.

The Room

I stayed in the ‘Superior Queen Room’ - perfect for two guests, and very spacious for one. A large double bed with another for me and my best friend to starfish. The rooms are modernised with blackout curtains, dark brown wooden furniture which matched the teal throw and cushions with white bedding. The bathroom was my dream bathroom, marble tiles and wide shower head, it was tranquil. You are provided with a spacious wardrobe with six hangers perfect for our night out outfits.

Bonus points was the wonderful touch of home. The Smart TV had a welcome message with my name on it and opening the wardrobe to slippers and dressing gown was the icing on the top.

The Experience

The entrance to it was with bougee dark blue suede sofas with a gold square mirror which aligned with the gold reception and smiling staff. The checking in process was so easy and fast, I arrived a little earlier than my check in time and the bubbly receptionist let me know my room was ready for me anyway and directed me to where I had to go. The bar area is perfect for a work mode in comfort, a coffee catch up with a friend.. or Prosecco on the sofas.

To the left of the bar as you come in is a gorgeous events space perfect for birthday and work parties and a dinner gala. To the right is the most scenic outdoors area, one side with the large seated igloos which makes me feel so festive and the other side is the open space ready for the bride to walk down the isle, I could already imagine the wedding.

We were kindly gifted breakfast and dinner, and I can honestly say the dinner was an absolutely outstanding experience. Maria served us mainly and she was one of the best staff in hospitality we’ve had, made us smile, laugh and new exactly what we would love. It was the perfect meal before a girls night, and a perfect location for a business meeting or date night. Breakfast in the morning (yes it was after a night out) was a lifesaver and we were very impressed with the selection and especially being unlimited buffet style, we took it up to the room with feeling a little wine fragile.
