Manchester's Northern Quarter: Top Five Spots For Food

The Northern Quarter is quintessentially Mancunian and easily Manchester’s most popular area. With so many shops, cafes, bars and more to choose from, it can seem overwhelming. So, we asked the experts: Which places are not to be missed in the NQ? A list by the Manchester Girls. Today, we’re talking food!

Siop

Siop have a whole lot of yummy things on the menu, but we particularly suggest going there for doughnuts when you need that little 3pm-pick-me-up. They do really good vegan doughnuts, too!

Common

Described as a “social, eatery and coffee spot”, we could’ve easily put Common into any of our categories. Sporting a colourful, urban vibe and a US-inspired menu, you can head there for brunch, lunch, dinner or drinks - depending on what your heart desires!

Bab

What do you think of when you hear the word ‘kebab’? Probably the end of a long night dancing your socks off. Well, Bab is a different story, priding themselves in offering “a kebab worth sitting down for”. Vibrant flavours, locally-sourced ingredients and homemade sauces are guaranteed to make you want more. And there are veggie options, too!

Little Lever St, M1 1HR

Evelyn’s Cafe Bar

The food at Evelyn’s is top notch. Offering a range of breakfast, brunch and mains, there really is something for everybody. Did you know they have a place called “The Daisy” in the basement, which is a co-working space by day and a cocktail bar by night? So, really, what’s not to love?

G18 Tib St, M4 1NB

Pieminister

Two words: Award-winning. Pieminister’s pies are popular amongst meat-eaters and vegans alike, with their menu offering choices for every dietary requirement, including gluten-free options. You can find their pies in various restaurants, pubs and cafés, and this one is right in the heart of the NQ.
