Show Summary

As described by the production…

“Join our inquisitive heroine Jade as she breaks away from her class to take a peek behind the scenes at the not yet open Gallery of Greatness in the local museum. Along her journey she is surprised to meet the incredible wonder women: Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Mary Seacole, Marie Curie and Emmeline Pankhurst to name just a few.

From explorers to artists, scientists to secret agents, hear the stories of some of history’s strongest mothers, sisters and daughters; all independent icons who really did change the world.”

Our MK Girl’s Review

My experience at MK theatre couldn’t have been better. The organisation from entry, to bar service, seating and exits was quick, easy and informative. We were greeted with a smile by every member of staff allowing us to feel welcomed and excited.

The show provided entertainment from the get go, making the audience feel like we were part of the show from the moment it started.

I truly believe that this show represents what MK Girl is all about: “Fantastically great women, who change the world”.

I was particularly impressed with the stage presence, lighting and layout, with the three musicians being on stage for the whole performance for the audience to see. They were absolutely incredible and extremely talented, all using different instruments throughout the show.

As it’s been a few (maybe more than a few) years since I attended school, it was very eye opening to be reminded of just how many women “changed the world” and to be reeducated of those moments, whilst also allowing the younger generation to understand what it is these incredible women did to allow us to do and be who we are today.

A particular quote of the show stood out to me whilst I sat there enjoying a glass of wine and a collection of sweets, “There is no such thing as an ordinary woman” and there really is no such thing. Women are incredible and this show reminded me of how special we are as a collective.

I’d like to make a special mention to the cast as all the women involved in the show had such an impact on me. They all played different roles, switching in and out of different characters, I couldn’t take my eyes off them.

Overall I was so impressed with this show and I am grateful to have been able to attend on behalf of MK Girl. I truly believe that this show represents what MK Girl is all about: “Fantastically great women, who change the world”.
