REVIEW

This week I tried out Oatsu who aim to make mornings and breakfast as easy as possible with their plant-based, hand-made overnight oats. Oatsu was launched in 2020 by Lauren who was on a mission to create a healthy breakfast for the time-poor. Lauren would prepare her own overnight oats every evening before work, however on the occasions where she didn't have the time, Lauren was unable to find a suitable alternative and Oatsu was born. The overnight oats are plant-based and high in fibre, keeping you and your gut happy. Oatsu deliver their products chilled and direct to your door, so you can enjoy them straight away.

Having always been a fan of overnight oats, I jumped at the chance to give Oatsu a go. The glass jars arrived chilled and well packaged, and I popped them straight in the fridge whilst deciding which of the delicious flavours I would enjoy first. They had good sell by dates on them and Oatsu do recommend you eat them fresh, however I was surprised to find they were also suitable to be frozen.

I tried the 4 pot bundle (£18.99) which came with the flavours choc peanut, apple cinnamon, banana biscoff and blueberry, however you can get in touch with the Oatsu team if you would like a different combination of flavours. Each jar is a generous 220g and is filled to the brim with deliciousness.

My favourite flavour was the banana biscoff; I found myself making a lot of hmmm noises whilst working my way through. However, I really enjoyed all of the flavours in the bundle and had them as either a snack or as breakfast. The texture of the oats was great and on the whole it wasn't too wet. I would recommend getting your spoon to the bottom to ensure you mix all of the delicious filling with the oats before you tuck in.

I also really love the sustainable element of the business. Too much food we consume on the go is encased in plastic. Oatsu package their overnight oats in glass jars, which can be reused again and again. Also their plant-based ethos means they are also doing their bit for climate change.

The pot that’s needed to start your day.
