Review

It is a rollercoaster of emotions so hold on for the ride while you undertake the sisters' confusion of their relationships and the heartbreaks.

Cosi fan tutte is a famous comedic Mozart Opera and true masterpiece of a classical story of love and infidelity. Set in 18th century Naples, the storyline is centered around two officers, Ferrando and Guglielmo who bet on their lovers' loyalty, sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella. The loyalty is questioned throughout the story with a variety of temptations. It is a rollercoaster of emotions so hold on for the ride while you undertake the sisters' confusion of their relationships and the heartbreaks.

The set of the show was beautifully put together, the stage was full of comical props which played well into the story and added a light hearted feel to the drama. At the front of the stage in the pit was the orchestra band who truly was the heart of the performance and provided the magic to the singing. The opera singing was wonderful, the main cast really put on a show with their unique opera voices and the acting alongside was a spectacular mix. Everyone had their own moment to show off their voices.

The story did have a modern twist to it which kept the audience laughing with each comical scene and quote! It is a truly brilliant Opera and even more perfect in the Bristol Hippodrome theatre - it’s an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss it!

Standout Quote or Moment: The orchestra’s final song was something to behold!

Similar Plays: Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute

Last Impression: A beautiful masterpiece of opera!
