As the story unfolds, this musical tells the story of a 16-year-old boy named Jamie who overcomes prejudice and bullying to pursue his dream of becoming a drag queen.

‘Everybody's Talking About Jamie’ centers on Jamie New, a 16-year-old teenager from Sheffield with dreams of becoming a drag queen.

Despite encountering bullying and discrimination at school, Jamie is determined to pursue his passion. With the unwavering support of his loving and supportive mother, Margaret, and his close friend, Pritti, Jamie begins to embrace his true identity.

Encouraged by a former drag queen, Hugo, who becomes his mentor, Jamie starts to gain confidence. As he prepares for his debut at the school prom, Jamie faces numerous challenges, including prejudice from classmates and resistance from his school.

However, his courage and authenticity inspire those around him, leading to a heartwarming and triumphant performance that showcases his talent and spirit. The musical celebrates themes of self-acceptance, resilience, and the importance of following one's dreams despite societal pressures.

The music in 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie' is both uplifting and poignant, perfectly capturing the spirit of the story. The performances are outstanding, with the cast delivering powerful, emotional, and often humorous portrayals that leave a lasting impression. The combination of vibrant choreography, heartfelt songs, and stellar acting makes for an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Standout Quote or Moment: The opening number was the standout moment for us, truly sets the electrifying setting of the show.

See If: If you're a fan of musicals that centres around acceptance and the power of support and self belief from the likes of Billy Elliott and Kinky Boots.

Last Impression: I’m a theatre phonetic, have seen most and this was one of the most incredible shows I’ve ever seen
