Review

Beyond the laughter and music, Sister Act has come to Cardiff to deliver a heartwarming message about the power of friendship, acceptance, and the ability to change.

It is a delightful musical comedy that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. Based on the hit 1992 film of the same name, this stage adaptation brings the story to life with catchy music, hilarious moments, and a heartwarming message.

The production features a talented cast who bring their characters to life with energy and charisma. The lead actress shines in the role of Deloris Van Cartier, a sassy lounge singer who finds herself in the witness protection program and hidden in a convent. Her journey from reluctant nun to beloved member of the community is both entertaining and inspiring.

The musical performances are a highlight of the show, with catchy tunes that has had me tapping my feet and singing along throughout the show. From gospel-inspired choir performances to energetic dance sequences, the music adds an extra layer of joy to the production.

The humour in Sister Act was clever and well-executed, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. The comedic timing of the cast was impeccable, and the witty dialogue kept the audience engaged and entertained.

Beyond the laughter and music, the story reminds us that sometimes the most unlikely circumstances can lead to the most transformative experiences.

Overall, Sister Act is a fantastic production that combines laughter, music, and heart in a truly enjoyable experience. Whether you're a fan of the film or new to the story, this  musical is a must-see for anyone looking for a fun and uplifting night at the theatre.

The show is running at the Wales Millenium Centre until the 18th of November so grab your  ticket soon!

Standout Quote or Moment: One standout moment from the musical is Deloris Van Cartier leading the nuns in the convent in singing and dancing to lovely gospel music. This moment of joy and celebration showcases the power of music to bring people together and uplift their spirits.
