Top 5 Green Spaces in Bristol: Bristol Girl Recommendations

Looking for the best green spaces in Bristol? Whether you’re in the mood for a peaceful stroll, a sunny spot for a picnic, or just some quiet me-time, this city has no shortage of beautiful parks and green escapes. To help you find the perfect place, our Bristol Girl Community Manager, Tamara, has shared her top recommendations for the best green spaces across Bristol.

1. Stoke Park Estate

The perfect place for a picnic and easily located along the M32, Stoke Park is known for its iconic yellow house which sits overlooking ‘Duchess Pond’.

With over 100 hectares to explore and a local ‘Site of Natural Conservation Interest’ why not pay it a visit.

2. Snuff Mills

A regular for our Bristol Girl Walk and Talk events, follow the riverside trails and wander through the lush woodland, it’s the great spot for mindful walks. Some paths can be a little muddy so prepare for your work according to the weather forecast.

3. Ashton Court

One of our favourite places in Bristol with wild roaming deer and panoramic city views, it’s the perfect place to go to feel relaxed amongst the rolling landscape.

Ashton Court has its very own mansion, café, and golf course, making it an ideal location for families of all ages.

4. Brandon Hill

Let’s not sugar coat the steep walk up! Situated off Park Street, Brandon Hill has panoramic views of central Bristol making it the perfect place to watch the sunset after work. If you fancy some extra leg work, you can climb the Cabot Tower whilst you’re there to get the extra height.

5. Clifton Downs

It wouldn’t be Bristol if we left Clifton off the list…

Situated at the top of Bristol city, Clifton downs is the area to go for your next park BBQ or easy stroll with sweeping views of the Avon Gorge. Don’t miss the ice cream van which is often parked at the top!

We’d love to hear your green space recommendations!
