5 Tourist Things To Do In Manchester

This library is part of the University of Manchester and it is beautiful. It’s old and ornate with spectacular Gothic architecture and you would be forgiven for thinking you’d stumbled into Hogwarts. It’s the perfect ambience if you fancy a read or if you just want to admire the beauty of the building.
Manchester Cathedral
Another impressive building, Manchester Cathedral deserves to be admired. It is home to intricate designs and some splendorous stained glass and dates all the way back to 1215. It’s right near a busy shopping area too so you won’t have to wander too far off the beaten track.
Old Trafford Museum
It’s impossible to disassociate the city from football and there’s a good reason why. Visit the historic ground and take a tour of the pitch and the behind the scenes. Even if you aren’t a football fan, it’s an intriguing visit.
Castlefield
Walk along by the canal and admire the magnificent Victorian houses at this popular tourist spot. There are old warehouses turned into shops for your retail pleasure, or if you are more inclined to culture make sure to check out the reconstructed Roman Fort.
The Manchester Art Gallery
Home to one of the largest art collections in the country outside of London, Manchester Art Gallery is a must-see. It houses works by the pre-Raphaelites, Max Ernst, as well as English painters Turner and Constable and much more. It gets better: admission is free!
