Hello, I’m Vicki. It’s nice to meet you!

Do you ever get that feeling where you feel drained or disconnected? Does your mind go at 100 miles an hour, with the thoughts never shutting off? Do you find yourself constantly replaying conversations and scenarios?

Carrying these feelings and thoughts can be heavy and make us feel like we’re facing an uphill battle, and all we want is for someone to listen to us and ask ‘how can I help?’. I’m here to help you work through your hardest thoughts, to navigate the stresses and strains of life, and to put those limiting beliefs away. I want you to feel empowered to make the changes and take the steps you want, and to feel good about doing so.

I am an approachable, empathetic and friendly therapist, and want to hear about what’s troubling you. You deserve to be heard and valued. I will help you feel safe and at ease as we explore what’s brought you to counselling, bringing focus on to you and how you’re feeling. Counselling is a space where you can think and feel how you want, and be authentically and unapologetically you with no judgement, allowing you to navigate your way both in and out of the therapy room.

How we could work together:

Our work will be collaborative. If there is something you want to explore but are unsure how to start, I will help you open that up. Equally, if you want to stop exploring something, we will stop - you being comfortable is my priority. I want you to be authentically you, so bring your whole self to our sessions. Therapy isn’t just for the heavy side either - bring your achievements to our sessions too!

My approach is to tailor our time together to you and your needs. I don’t believe in the same or a one-step approach for every client. You are unique, and your sessions should be too! I am a pluralistic therapist, meaning that I work with a range of approaches, so every session will be different and dependent on what you bring each time. Equally, if you like structure, we can do that too. You drive our sessions.

My sessions are relaxed to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Think of them as a chat, but one where you can talk about anything and everything, knowing there is no judgement, and you will be heard and listened to. I will guide and ask questions, gently challenge your limiting thoughts and beliefs, helping you understand where those thoughts may have come from, and to feel encouraged to make changes.

About me and how I can help you:

I am passionate about and specialise in women’s health, particularly the chronic gynaecological conditions which affect so many. I have a very strong focus on endometriosis and fibroids and am proud to be expanding into other areas including PMDD and PCOS, supporting even more women.

I can support you to understand and process your pending or formal diagnosis, your pain, your treatment, the potential consequences of surgery or medication, and the overlooked impact that these conditions have on you physically, mentally and emotionally.

I also have a keen interest in relationships and attachment styles, seeing how our attachment form during childhood and change during adolescence and adulthood, and enjoy helping women move into secure attachment.

I previously worked with an agency specialising in substance use and addiction, with people experiencing active addiction or recovery, and also with families of those in addiction. This allowed me to understand not only how addiction affects the person, but also how those around them are affected.

In addition to women’s health, relationships and addiction, I can help in the following areas, amongst others:

• Addiction • Financial Issues
• ADHD • Grief
• Anxiety. • Low confidence, self esteem & self worth
• Body image • Phobias
• Chronic illnesses • Race & Racism
• Depression and low mood • Relationship Issues
• Disordered eating and eating disorders. • Social Anxiety
• Drug and alcohol use • Stress
• Exam stress • Suicidal Thoughts
• Family issues • Women’s Health, including endometriosis, fibroids and perimenopause
• Work Stress

    • Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice (Prof.Dip Psy C)

    • Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory (DIP CS)

    • Level 3 Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills (DIP HYP CS)

  • I work Monday to Friday in my cosy therapy room in the heart of Bedminster, and in lovely therapy rooms in Clifton, just off Whiteladies Road. I also work online, so we can still work together if you are anywhere in the country.

  • I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve been through incredibly tough times with endometriosis and fibroids, and may have experienced some of what you might have been through, or are going through, both physically and emotionally. At my lowest point, I found it hard to find a counsellor who would have an understanding of what these conditions were and their impact. This made me determined that I would make the space for those struggling with their periods, so they could be understood and taken seriously without fear of being judged or dismissed.
