2 Easy Halloween Makeup Looks On A Budget

Halloween is round the corner. Haven’t found an outfit or the slightest clue what to dress up as? Going crazy trying to think of something in the last minute? We’ve all been there! Here are my top 2 go-to Halloween looks.

They are cruelty-free, won’t break the bank and will save you from a Halloween costume disaster.

Before I jump right in, the rule you must remember is makeup, makeup, makeup. Forget about the Halloween outfit, it is all about creating the right makeup look to glam up your outfit. You could wear anything from a bin bag to a t-shirt but as long as your makeup is popping, you can serve any and all the looks you want.

The ‘Cat’ look:

When it comes to this popular Halloween look, they’d say it’s as cheap as chips! All you need to work some makeup magic is a black eyeliner pencil, black eye shadow and black liquid eyeliner. These can be found anywhere online and in-store.

My favourites to use are the MUA Black Kohl Eyeliner Pencil at just £1.50! The Natural Collection black liquid eyeliner for £2.49 from Boots and the matte black shade from Revolution’s Pro Supreme Allure Eyeshadow Palette for £6 at Superdrug.

Step 1:

Make sure you follow your normal foundation and concealer routine! Everyone’s face is different, you know the shape of your face and what works well for you. My personal favourites are:  the E.l.f Cosmetics flawless finish liquid foundation for £7.50 and the E.l.f Cosmetics 16hr camo concealer for £5 (both available at Superdrug).

These products are my everyday holy grail items and you’ll find that they will last you the whole night whilst you’re partying away. Scout’s Honour!

Step 2:

Next, you want to create a black top lip using the black eyeliner pencil. You want to take the same eyeliner pencil and create a feline shaped snout at the tip of your nose. Then, you want to create 3-4 whiskers on each side of your face using soft strokes so they don’t come across as harsh.

Step 3:

An inner corner winged eye brings this look together and makes the cat look, look seamless. Using a liquid eyeliner will help your eyeliner not to fade through the night and works easier in achieving a classic winged cat eyeliner.

Step 4:

Using the matte black shade from the revolution palette, create a bold black eye blending the eyeliner and eyeshadow together with a fluffy brush. Finish off the look with your choice of mascara or lashes.

Reconstructed Halloween Witch:

I made this look up last Halloween and loved the turnout so I thought I’d share it with you guys. It’s inspired by the typical Halloween witch colours: green and purple and I’d definitely recommend it for those who don’t really like to dress up. Simply, pair the look with an all black outfit and you’re good to go!

This look is slightly harder than the one before but it’s totally worth the effort and of course it’s still cheap! All you need is: the Beauty Bay EYN Bright 16 colour palette for £11.50, the matte purple shade from the Revolution Allure palette used in the  look above and the Revolution Plum Matte Lipstick for £4 from Superdrug.

Step 1:

Repeat the first step from the ‘cat’ look to create your base.

Step 2:

On your left eye, use the colour “Frosted Lime” across your entire lid. Make sure you blend out the edges using a fluffy brush. Then using a thin flat brush, apply the shade “Lagoon” to your inner corner.

Step 3:

Moving on to your right eye, use the matte purple shade from the Revolution palette and repeat the steps you did for your left eye. For your inner corner, use the shade lilac shimmer (also from the Revolution Allure Palette).  This should now leave you with a green left eye and a purple right eye.

Step 4:

Now for the hard bit. You’re gonna use the “Frosted Lime” shade from the Beauty Bay palette to contour AND highlight the left side of your face. Using a face powder brush, apply the green shade underneath your left cheekbone, on the left side of your forehead, underneath the left side of your chin and on the left corner of your mouth.

Step 5:

To finish off the look,  use the Revolution matte lipstick in the shade ‘plum’. There you have it: the reconstructed Halloween witch look!
