As I was reading the blurb to this novel I was instantly hooked. The 32-year-old protagonist is forced to look back at her teenage years and question life as she knows it when a former classmate reaches out to her about sexual abuse from their old teacher.

Vanessa had an ongoing relationship with her 42-year-old teacher when she was 15, however, in her eyes, it was true love and a relationship that has influenced her journey into adult life. But is this the truth? Vanessa must unravel the past to identify if this relationship was love or whether she was a victim of abuse.

This debut novel from Emma Gannon delves into the world of stereotypes and the pressure women face as they head towards their 30s. The protagonist Olive watches as her friends settle down and start to have children and questions if this too is the path she wants to lead. This book is a must-read for 2020 and for all girls everywhere to question stereotypes and what it means to be a young adult woman in this day and age.

Released on 11th June 2020, but available to pre-order right now.

However, when Kacey disappears at a similar time as a number of murders take place, Mickey must race to find her sister. If you love thrillers this is the book for you.
