Getting some fresh air and enjoying the outdoors not only gives you quality time with your pup, but can be a great way to escape busy city life. We know It’s easy to fall into the same routine and re-visit that well loved dog walking spot, but why not try somewhere new?

Bristol Girl have put together five of their favourite (FREE!) walks to feel the wind in your pups

Ashton Court

Ashton Court offers 850 acres of grass and woodland for your furry friend to enjoy, so you never have to walk the same route twice. A sixteenth century mansion sits at the top of one of many hills, and while the mansion itself is not dog friendly, the Courtyard Cafe certainly is, giving you and your four-legged-friend the opportunity to refuel before carrying on your day.

What we love: There’s a multitude of wildlife here, including deer depending on the time of year (reminder to keep your dog on a lead around wildlife).
Address: Ashton Court, Long Ashton, Bristol, BS41 9JN.
Parking: There are three car parks at the site.

Snuff Mills

Snuff Mills is a nature lover's haven, with vibrant woodland lining the bank of the River Frome. There are many terrains for your furry friend to explore, as well as swimming spots if that is more their thing. When you enter the car park there’s a small shack on the right hand side that sells hot drinks and snacks to keep those energy levels up. Follow along the river, and you can loop back to the car park through the woodland to
keep things interesting.

What we love: The ample swimming spots that dogs of all ages can enjoy!
Address: Snuff Mills, River View, Stapleton, Bristol, BS16 1DL
Parking: There is one car park at the entrance of the walk. Be aware - it gets very
busy during weekends

Oldbury Court Estate

This might be a bit of a cheat, as Oldbury Court Estate leads onto Snuff Mills if you fancy a longer walk. It covers 35 hectares (!) and includes a park, as well as picnic areas for you to enjoy. Look out for riverside wildlife on your walk, and maybe stop by the cafe kiosk for some takeaway sweet treats.

What we love: With a play park and picnic areas, this is somewhere the whole family can enjoy
Address: Oldbury Court, Oldbury Court Road, Fishponds, Bristol, BS16 2JH
Parking: There is one car park by the entrance

Conham River Park

Conham River Park is one of the more popular dog walks around Bristol, and it’s easyto see why. Being a slightly shorter walk, it’s perfect for any OAD’s (Old Aged Dogs), or perhaps for those days when you don’t really feel like going out, but Fido needs to stretch his legs. The path runs along the River Avon, and in the summer you might spot wild swimmers or boats going by.

What we love: During part of the year, a free boat can take you and your pooch across the river to
Beese’s Riverside Bar and Garden. The perfect spot to enjoy a summer's day.
Address: Conham River Park, 53 Conham Hill, Hanham, Bristol, BS15 3AW
Parking: There is one car park at the entrance

Leigh Woods

If your dog is as tree-mad as ours, then Leigh Woods is bound to be a new favourite. Owned by the National Trust, it has stunning trails that wind through rich woodland - a great place that can be enjoyed all year round.
Follow the trail, and you will be rewarded with a beautiful view that overlooks the Avon Gorge. This is a leash only walk, which may suit our more nervous or reactive pups.

What we love: It is particularly gorgeous in the summer, with views that stretch for miles.

Address: Leigh Woods Nature Reserve, Abbots Leigh Road, Bristol, BS8 3QB
Parking: There is one car park on site and National Trust Members can park for free. There is also limited on street parking.
