Face Masks in the UK as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic have been the height of discussions for months in our City Girl Networks – from what face masks to buy, to who has been making them in the network. After all, the most vital time to support local is right now.
Following Boris Johnson’s announcement this morning that Face Masks will be compulsory in shops from 24th July, we’ve compiled a list of all the face masks made by City Girls across our UK networks.
Before you scroll through the long list of masks, it’s important to note that these masks (like most) are not approved PPE for medical professionals and are more appropriate for day-to-day activities, like food shopping.

They have 3 layers as recommended. 1 layer of cotton and 2 layers of the same non-woven fabric used in surgical masks, which makes them both filtering and breathable.
They have a metal nose clip to pinch the mask close to the nose to create a closer fit. Made with super soft premium long adjustable elastic straps that tie comfortably behind the head - OR can be tied behind the ears if you prefer. Washable and re-usable. Check out the reviews!”

These double-layered face masks are an Etsy bestseller!
Key information on these Face Masks (directly from the Etsy page): I use heat transfer paper to apply the design to a poly cotton canvas fabric on the exterior and the interior is not printed white poly cotton canvas, with white elastic straps.
Sizes: Small (13cm x 18cm) and medium (15cm x 20cm), straps are roughly 18cm of elastic on each side – for reference, I wear a size small and my boyfriend wears a size medium.

Brighton Girl handmade double layered cotton face masks with 50% of profits going to the Yemen Appeal
Key information on these Face Masks (directly from the Etsy page): Two layers of cotton are sewn together with a curved seam for comfort and fit. Four ties are attached to the mask so it is fully adjustable and fits a range of sizes.
50% of sales will be donated to the British Red Cross Yemen Appeal. The people of Yemen are facing conflict, hunger and COVID-19. The cost of face masks has increased thirtyfold and they are becoming a luxury item in the country.
