5 Days in Estonia: The Ultimate Girls’ Trip Itinerary
Estonia might just be Europe’s best-kept secret for a girls’ getaway. With its fairytale cities, idyllic islands, indulgent spas, and thriving food scene, it’s a destination that mixes culture, wellness, and pure fun in perfect balance. During our recent City Girl Network press trip, we explored Tallinn, Saaremaa, Hiiumaa, and Muhu, discovering exactly why Estonia should be on your travel bucket list.
Whether you’re planning a birthday trip, a hen do, or simply a well-deserved adventure with your best friends, here’s our complete 5-day girls’ trip itinerary to Estonia.
Day 1: Tallinn Arrival & Old Town Charm
Our journey began in Tallinn, Estonia’s UNESCO-listed capital. After checking into the stylish Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn, we wandered the cobbled streets of the Old Town, soaking up its medieval towers, pastel houses, and hidden courtyards.

Please note: This is based on us arriving at 5pm. Our flight journey involved travelling from Heathrow to Helsinki to Tallin.
Day 2: Ferry to Hiiumaa – A Packed Day of Touring, Activities and Cuisine

We took a scenic ferry ride to Hiiumaa, the second-largest Estonian island, famed for its wild beaches and relaxed vibe. Our base was the charming Kassari Holiday Resort close to the coast.
What we did:
Horse Riding at Kassari on the Shoreline (if some in your party aren’t keen horseriders, there’s a stunning walk you can take through the woodland to a wild beach)
Lunch at iiUmekk, serving delicious island flavours, from fresh fish to foraged herbs overlooking the sea
Visit Õuk Distillery to try small-batch gins and liquers using wild Estonian botanicals, island-grown ingredients and Hiiumaa’s unique artesian water
Fill our bottles with water from an Artesian Well in Kärdla
Explore Viscosa Cultural Factory: an old wool factory that’s being transformed into a creative hub and cultural centre
Stroll along Luidja Sandy Beach (Luidia Liivarand), which is framed by a rare and beautiful black alder forest
Climb Kõpu Lighthouse for breathtaking panoramic views across the forest and baltic sea
Dinner at Hõbekala Guesthouse Restaurant, fish specialists set in a secluded barn building. We highly recommend that you buy a jar of their Kadakaräimed (Baltic Herring and Juniper Berries).

Day 3: Ferry to Saaremaa – Castles, Spas & Meteor Craters
From Hiiumaa, we headed to Saaremaa, the largest island in Estonia. This day was all about nature, history, and a whole heap of cosy wellness.
Our itinerary:
Visit the Kaali Meteorite Craters, a dramatic reminder of Earth’s cosmic history.
Explore Kuressaare Castle, one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in the Baltics.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at Ku-Kuu Restaurant in Kuressaare Kuursaal
Explore Kuressare, the capital of Saaremaa
Relax at SÖRWESPA Nature Resort, the best spa on Saaremaa Island
Have a platter of delicious fresh fish, pickles, fruit, cheese and bread at their restaurant SÖRWEKÖÖK

Note: We were due to do Canoe trip through Saaremaa’s serene waterways, but this was cancelled due to poor weather conditions so we went to a spa instead. We’d strongly recommend doing a trip if you can!
Day 4: Muhu Island Michelin Dining and return to Tallinn

After breakfast and a wander around the Pilguse Residency Estate, we ventured over to Muhu Island for lunch and then back to Tallin for our final evening.

Get the ferry to Virtsu and drive back to Tallinn

Final drinks night out – on this occasion, we went to Kino Sõprus to watch the Eurovision finals, which is a cinema and club.
Day 5: Creative Tallinn & Farewell Feast
Our final day celebrated Tallinn’s creative side. We explored Telliskivi Creative City and the Noblessner Seafront Quarter, packed with art studios, indie shops, and waterside restaurants.

Reunited with Heli for another ‘Heli likes to talk’ tour (she’s the best tour guide ever!!)
An hour’s walking tour exploring Telliskivi Creative City and the Balti Jaama Turg

Wander to the Noblessner Seafront Quarter
Brunch at Lore Bistro, known for its sharing plates and lively atmosphere
Taxi to collect our bags from the hotel and head to the airport
We left with full hearts, full bellies, and a lifetime of memories.

From spa days to castle tours, island hopping to creative city vibes, Estonia is a destination that feels both adventurous and restorative.
