5 Loungewear Pieces for Lockdown

While it may seem comfortable to see out the whole of the lockdown in tracksuit sets, there’s something about making a little effort that makes us feel good about ourselves, refreshed and productive when working and living at home. Waking up and putting together a cute outfit will set you up for tackling anything and everything the day throws at you!

So, here are a few pieces you can rely on to feel put together but without compromising on comfort.

OVERSIZED SHIRT

A shirt will always make you feel polished and ready to deal with important work or life matters. Instead of opting for a tight fitting, structured shirt, go for one that is a little more oversized and roomy. Pair your shirt with stretchy yet fitted trousers for a streamlined and flattering look - ideal if you have a scheduled Zoom meeting you want to look smart for.

Cos have a range of smart casual pieces to achieve that look.

MAXI DRESS

There is nothing more comfortable than a maxi dress while you’re lounging or working at home. Pick a colourful print to brighten your day and pair with a snuggly cardigan if it’s a little on the cooler side. Wear with trainers for your daily stroll outside.

CROPPED TROUSERS

Not only do cropped trousers look chic but they’re comfortable too and don’t restrict you like your average pair of tight skinny jeans. Whether you pick a more structured pair or go for flowy culottes, you will look smart and feel put together with minimal effort. Wear them with a tucked-in shirt for an extra polished look.

COSY JUMPER

I’m sure many of you have been living in cosy, oversized knits and a jumper goes a long way in making you feel comfortable and warm when lounging at home. By adding a pair of statement earrings you can lift your outfit and make it feel a little more glamorous even if you have just paired the jumper with your favourite pair of leggings.

PLEATED SKIRT

A pleated skirt - and more specifically, one with an elasticated waistband - is a great way of looking like you’ve made an effort but without tight clothes hugging the wrong places and restricting your blood flow.

Pair your skirt with a cosy jumper or a slouchy t-shirt during warmer weather and you’ll instantly feel elegant for your evenings on the sofa enjoying a virtual catch up with your friends.

Whether you live alone or not, it’s important to stay true to your personal style and dress up for you rather than others. Self-care is currently playing a big part in making lockdown more bearable, so get out your signature pieces and wear whatever makes you feel good.
