An Evening with Karen Dobres

  • Crossbar Brighton, 22–23 Upper North Street, Brighton, BN1 3FG (map)

Join us at Crossbar Brighton for a powerful, funny and thought-provoking evening with Karen Dobres, author of Pitch Invasion: My Story as a Woman on a Football Club Board, in conversation with Pippa Moyle, Founder of the City Girl Network.

Karen never expected to fall for football — let alone help revolutionise it. Between 2017 and 2023, she was at Lewes FC, helping to create the pioneering Equality FC project at the first football club in the world to pay its women and men players equally. Her story is one of confidence, leadership, imposter syndrome, activism, community-building and what happens when women start rewriting the rules.

This won’t be a football event in the traditional sense. Instead, we’ll be using football as a lens to explore the bigger questions so many of us navigate in work, life and leadership. Expect a relaxed, inspiring live conversation, audience Q&A, drinks, mingling and a chance to connect with brilliant women from across the Brighton Girl community.

Tickets are free, but please RSVP to help us keep an eye on numbers.
