About the book
All the stuff in the papers was lies. We were never ‘The Ice Cream Girls’.
Serena and Poppy were teenagers when they were branded as the Ice Cream Girls. When they were accused of murder, one of them was sent to prison while the other was set free. Now, 20 years later, one of them is doing all she can to clear her name and the other is frantically trying to keep her secrets.
Which Ice Cream Girl is desperate enough to kill to get what she wants?

Bitch Invasion: Grabbing Success by the Balls
Join us at Crossbar Brighton for an evening of fun, honest conversation and rule-breaking energy with Karen Dobres, author of Pitch Invasion and former Director at Lewes FC, and Lucy Tallant, co-founder and owner of Crossbar Brighton, hosted by Pippa Moyle, Founder of City Girl Network.
Together, we’ll be talking about success, leadership, confidence, belonging and what it really takes to build something different — whether that’s inside a football club, a bar, a business, a community, or a movement.
This isn’t just a conversation about football. It’s about the spaces women aren’t always expected to occupy, the rules we’re told to follow, and the moments where we decide to do things our own way instead.
Tickets are free, but please RSVP to help us keep an eye on numbers.
About Karen Dobres
Karen Dobres is a writer, former counselling therapist and former Director at Lewes FC, where she helped create the pioneering Equality FC project. Despite having no previous interest in football, Karen became part of the first football club in the world to pay its women and men players equally, leading campaigns to welcome “unwelcome women” into the game. Her book, Pitch Invasion: My Story as a Woman on a Football Club Board, shares her funny, honest and powerful story of turning outsider status into a force for change.
About Lucy Tallant
Lucy Tallant is the co-founder and owner of Crossbar, the UK’s first Women’s Sports Bar in the heart of Brighton. Crossbar is creating a space that celebrates community, connection and culture of women and sport, as well as bringing people together through events, conversation.

Friday 24th – Sunday 26th April 2026 | Ferring, Sussex
Two years ago, on a cold and windy December day, Ylva (Yoga with Ylva) and Caz (CJYoga) discovered a hidden gem on the Sussex coast. Not one, but two beautiful beachside houses joined by a landscaped garden, just steps from the sea. With bright rooms, sea views, meditation spaces, a pool, and a light-filled kitchen, they knew it was too special not to share.
And so, the Sussex Spring Weekend Retreat was born. 🌸
What to Expect
A nourishing weekend of:
Morning yoga
Sea swims & seaside walks
Sound baths & meditation circles
Journaling & gentle self-enquiry
Poolside chats (and dips, if the weather’s kind!)
Space for peaceful reading & reflection
Connection, laughter, and joy
All meals are lovingly prepared by Field Foods, a local company passionate about soil- and soul-enriching food. They work with Sussex producers and use seasonal ingredients at their very best. Delicious, nourishing, and sustainable.
Prices per person:
SOLD OUT: Private room with ensuite bathroom: £635pp
Private room with shared bathroom: £615pp
Twin room with ensuite bathroom: £535pp
Twin room with shared bathroom: £515pp
Some rooms do have the option of an additional bed, so if you were hoping to share this retreat with two (or more) friends, please do let us know so we can discuss your options.
Please email cjyoga@yahoo.co.uk for more details or to book your space.
