Paint the Swiss Alps with Pastels (Retreat)

This event listing is an advertisement by Make Art Journeys and is not organised by the City Girl Network.

An immersive creative retreat in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

This incredible creative retreat is hosted by Rural Sussex Girl, Liudmyla Horielaia. Join her for a unique 5-day creative retreat where you'll learn to paint the Swiss Alps using soft pastels — no experience needed.

Whether you're a seasoned artist or holding pastels for the first time, this journey is designed to reconnect you with nature, creativity, and yourself.

You’ll travel as a small group (8–10 people) to ensure comfort, warmth, and meaningful connection.

📍 Lauterbrunnen Valley, Switzerland

💸 £1,200 per person (A £300 deposit confirms your place. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the retreat)

Reignite your creativity in the heart of the Alps. Escape the noise. Slow down. Let breathtaking alpine views inspire your soul — and your art.

Location: Lauterbrunnen Valley

Nestled between sheer cliffs and 72 waterfalls, Lauterbrunnen is one of the most magical places in Europe — so much so that it inspired Tolkien’s vision of Rivendell. Autumn transforms this valley into a canvas of golden trees, snow-dusted peaks, and crisp mountain air. It’s not just a destination — it’s a muse.

What's included in your £1,200 package

  • 5 nights at Hotel Staubbach (shared twin room)

  • Daily breakfast

  • Private group transfer from/to Basel Airport

  • Daily pastel painting workshops with a professional artist

  • All art supplies (easels, soft pastels, high-quality paper, stools, etc.)

  • Evening programs: creative games, mindful conversations, and shared inspiration

  • Full support from your experienced host throughout the journey

Meet your instructor

Our workshops are led by a professional artist and educator with over 15 years of experience in expressive landscape art. You’ll receive hands-on guidance and personalized support, no matter your skill level.

Optional excursions (extra cost)

Want to explore beyond the valley? We offer unforgettable add-ons:

  • Guided day trip to Bern – old town walk, Rose Garden view, local museums

  • Visit to the Basel Art Museum

  • Traditional Swiss fondue tasting

  • Cable car trip to Lake Oeschinensee

  • Panoramic ride to Wengen & Männlichen (2,200m) – epic views of Jungfrau, Mönch & Eiger

  • Scenic stroll through Grindelwald – a storybook alpine village

Bringing kids?

Children are welcome — and will enjoy their own creative program!

  • Under 6: just £30 total (3rd guest in room with crib)

  • 6+: £700 (shared room with parent) or £450 (3rd guest in triple room)

Art workshops can be arranged depending on group composition and age.

This retreat is intentionally intimate — just 10 guests. Reserve your place now before they fill up!

Come as you are. Leave with your own Alpine masterpiece.

Worthing Girl Wine & Vinyl

🎶 Worthing Girl Vinyl & Wine Night at Spun Records

Perfect for… Vinyl lovers, curious collectors, music-minded souls, worthing girls searching for connection, fun night out, safe space for women to connect

Spaces very limited

Join us for a cosy, after-hours evening at one of Worthing’s most beloved local gems—Spun Records—for a laid-back night of vinyl, wine, and good conversation.

Whether you’ve been collecting records for years or you’re just vinyl-curious, this event is all about creating a welcoming, pressure-free space to connect with like-minded women and music lovers.

We’ll have the entire shop to ourselves from 7–9 PM, with drinks flowing (1 drink included in the ticket price), great tunes spinning, and a chance to share stories, swap music tips, or even pick up a new record or two.

Drink Options Included in the Ticket:

🍷 Small Glass of White Wine

🍷 Small Glass of Red Wine

🍻 Guiness

🍻 Old Mout Cider

🥤Any non-alcoholic option including zero beers and Coca Cola etc.

Record stores can sometimes be an intimidating place, especially in spaces that feel male-dominated. This event is about changing that vibe—making record stores feel approachable, joyful, and inclusive.

So, if you’ve just moved to Worthing or have been here forever but fancy making some new pals this is the event for you! We understand that coming to an event can be daunting if you haven’t been to one before (or sometimes even if you have!

We really want you all to know that absolutely everyone on the Worthing Girl group is welcome. We are a group of kind, supportive and inclusive girls who are all here with the same thing in mind - to create some strong connections and quality friendships.

So please don’t worry if you’re feeling anxious as those anxieties will certainly fade once you’ve met us!
