3 Lakes That Every MK Girl Should Know About

Milton Keynes isn’t just concrete cows and roundabouts but there are a lot. We wanted to show you what Milton Keynes has to offer starting with three lakes you should know about.

Furzton Lake

Furzton Lake based in Furzton and walking distance to central Milton Keynes is a residential lake with access to free parking at V4 Watling St opposite the National Bowl, Lynmouth Crescent between Swimbridge Lane and Pinkworthy Shirwell Crescent.

Furzton Lake is joined by a family friendly and (outdoors) dog friendly pub and currently being developed is an adventure golf course (Dinosaur valley) and cafe opening next year.

Caldecotte Lake

Caldecotte Lake, one of the biggest in Milton Keynes has access to water sports facilities, mainly known for sailing including lessons and home of the boating clubs. Whilst walking around you can stop for food and refreshments at Caldecotte arms, which was built around an old windmill and the perfect location for a sit down in the sun with its garden looking over the lake. You can make use of free parking at H10 Bletcham Way eastbound (hotel and play area), Monellan Grove, off H10 Bletcham Way westbound, Simpson Road, Simpson.

Willen Lake

There are two parts to Willen Lake. If you are looking for a day out with your loved ones that includes activities, food and a scenic walk, we suggest staying around Willen Lake south. The destination that brings children's and adult activities together. From water sports to large parks, splash park to Go Ape, Willen Lake is perfect for an all year round destination. They also have a large food and drink destination overlooking the lake and next to it is the perfect place to stop and have a picnic after your long day out.

If you want to take the scenic specific route for your walk. Willen Lake North is your best place. Walking around Willen Lake you will see fitness equipment that you can use on your journey. Take note of the nature you pass, pause at the peace pagoda as you take in the stunning view and as you pass you will come across Willen Hospice. Willen Hospice is our only adult Hospice that cares for end of life patients here in Milton Keynes and surrounding.
