5 Things to Do in Leeds During Lockdown

Needing something to prevent the cabin fever setting in? We hear you. Here’s our list of five things to do in Leeds during lockdown, with links to their COVID measures to make finding safe activities easier for you! There’s something for everyone in your support bubble.

Temple Newsam Estate

Based in the outskirts of Leeds, why not get some fresh air at the Temple Newsam Estate? The wood, playgrounds and house farm are open (for reduced times) for you to enjoy during lockdown. The perfect opportunity to be in some open air instead of being indoors the whole time!

They’re also hosting a Halloween themed bug trail, perfect for children in your bubble! They do ask that you comply to lockdown measures whilst visiting. Click here to view their advice on visiting the site during lockdown.

Online Black History Month Events by VisitLeeds

With October being Black History Month, Visit Leeds have put together a range of Black History events with something for everyone. They have moved online to accommodate Leeds’ local lockdown, so they are accessible from your sofa. Read the full list here.

Most of the events are open during October only, but Back To Life runs until the end of the year. Back to Life shows a series of black and white photos colourised, to tell the story of some of the first black Jamaicans to come to Britain, in the 1940s and 1960s.

Bongo’s Bingo - Online

Bingo is no longer for the over 60s! Bongo’s Bingo has a strong following of people already for it’s in house events that often lead to nights out. Now that fun has gone online to entertain you during lockdown! The bingo is available to play here. Why not get friends and family involved too? Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, at 8pm - see you there.

Tailor’s Gin Bar & Lock In

Leeds Bar Tailor’s Gin is a great location to go for a socially distanced occasion. Book online (up to six permitted) and you can have a table for six people in your bubble, or drink outside for up to five friends. Drinks are all yours! For the Lock In, the whole bar, personal bartender, and bottomless drinks are all yours and for five others in your bubble for two hours - all for £45 per person.

Junkyard Golf

Junkyard Golf has reopened, and is Covid safe! An indoor fluorescent minigolf course, with drinks available, it’s a great day out for your bubble.  It requires masks, and they book 4 slots per time slot, to limit the amount of people on the course at one time. Read their full measures here. Bring hand sanitizer, just to be safe!
