5 Gift Ideas for Every Tea Lover

UK

Whittard of Chelsea Tea Sets has been a staple present gifted to me by family and friends for a number of years. My tea cupboard is packed with “mini caddies” of loose teas – with Earl Grey being the raving favourite back in the day when I could legally have friends over.

Growing up in Milton Keynes (also home to MK Girl), Whittards (as it was more commonly called) was always a must-browse. I would never pass up an opportunity to try a new tea. And, as it turns out from recent chats in our City Girl communities, I’m not alone with my teenage tea fantasies.

So, in aid of National Tea Day and the joy that Whittard of Chelsea has brought all of us over the years, here are five tea sets that make great gift ideas!

Chelsea Glass Teapot with Infuser

£30

This is the perfect gift for that friend who’s serious about loose leaf tea (or at least is trying to be). Commonly spotted at recently modernised cafes, this style of teapot is a must-have for all tea fans.

And this particular teapot, according to the Whittard website, is “expertly crafted in heat-resistant borosilicate glass.” You can get 6 cups of tea out of it and it comes with a removable stainless steel infuser, as well as a spring filter at the spout to watch your leaves infuse.

The Tea Discoveries English Rose Gift Set

£32

Whittard of Chelsea’s English Rose tea tastes delicious on a sunny day. I’ve made a promise to myself to nail homemade iced teas this summer and my English Rose stash will be used lovingly in doing so!

As well as 25 tea bags, your pal will get a bone china cup and saucer (worth £16) and a pack of Summer Berries All Butter Biscuits.

Not sure if English Rose is quite right? You can get the same deal with English Breakfast, Chelsea Garden, Mango & Bergamont, and Piccadilly, all with slightly different cup designs.

Apple and Elderflower Bundle

£24

The Apple and Elderflower Bundle, comprising of an Apple and Elderflower Loose Tea and a cute glass infuser (a.k.a. Pao Mug), is the perfect gift for tea lovers at the office. They get a delicious tea brewing at their desk; you get to feel like you’ve improved their work livelihood. Win, win.

Love the idea but not so keen on the flavour? There’s a Sweet Dreams Bundle (a rooibos with flavours of apricot, creamy vanilla and honey - £25) and the Bright Berry Bundle (£25), too. Or, you could just get them the Pao Mug (£18).

Teatime Infuser

£6

Looking to treat your tea loving friend to something a little smaller whilst still being thoughtful? Trust me, tea infusers are the one. Whittards offers three different types of £6 infusers: the one pictured above with a teapot on the end, another with Alice in Wonderful on the end, and another that’s shaped like a teapot (the more I look at it, the more I want it).

There’s also a great spring handle infuser (£8) and mug infuser (£10) that are well worth considering, too.

The discovery Hamper

£70

Granted, this is not just tea. It’s a hamper that quenches the thirst of all hot drinks lovers – especially those who love to devour a sweet treat at the same time.

As stated on the Whittard of Chelsea website, this includes the following: Milk, Dark & White Chocolate Coated Espresso Beans, Monsoon Malabar Ground Coffee Valve Pack, Chelsea Breakfast Loose Tea Pouch, Luxury White Hot Chocolate, Tea Discoveries Earl Grey Loose Tea Caddy, Luxury Hot Chocolate and Tea Discoveries Earl Grey All Butter Biscuits.

There you have it! A run down of five gift sets that Whittard of Chelsea has to offer, dedicated to everyone who’s missed being able to browse their stores during the pandemic.

Now, as my mum would say moments after leaving Whittards back in the day, “I’m gasping for a cuppa”.
