Paranormal Activity has landed at Milton Keynes Theatre, and what an intense, heart-racing production it was. From the moment the lights dimmed, we were on the edge of our seats. If you're a horror fan or simply enjoy immersive experiences that get the adrenaline pumping, this is one show you won't want to miss.

Based on the hugely successful Paranormal Activity film franchise, which has terrified audiences worldwide across numerous movies since its debut in 2007, the stage adaptation brings the supernatural horror to life in a completely new way. The story follows a young couple as they become increasingly disturbed by unexplained paranormal events, creating a chilling atmosphere that keeps audiences guessing until the very end.

This production is a perfect example of how theatre should be done. Every creative element worked seamlessly together to deliver an experience that was as gripping as it was terrifying. The lighting design was exceptional, creating eerie shadows, the basics of cars driving past their house and tension-filled moments that left the audience holding their breath. Combined with the outstanding sound design, every creak, bang and unexplained noise felt amplified, making the scares even more effective.

The cast deserve immense praise. What makes this production even more remarkable is that just four actors carried the entire show, and they did so flawlessly (James played by James Bye, Lou played by Hannah Sinclair, Etheline played by Jo Castleman and Carolanne played by Caroline Faber). Each performance felt authentic and believable, drawing the audience deeper into the story with every scene. Their ability to build tension and maintain the show's emotional intensity was nothing short of outstanding.

I cannot remember a theatre production that has left such a lasting impression. Through its masterful use of lighting, sound, storytelling and exceptional performances, Paranormal Activity delivers a genuinely thrilling theatrical experience. Terrifying, immersive and brilliantly executed, it's one of the best productions to come to MK Theatre stage in recent years.
