Brighton Influencer Spotlight: Yasmin Stefanie

Behind the Scenes of Brighton’s Favourite Influencers

As we all know, Brighton is a place full of creatives, but recently there has been a noticeable rise in the amount of stunning blogger feeds that show Brighton in its best light. The Brighton Influencer Spotlight is a series of Brighton babes that are creating stunning Instagram content and always find the prettiest houses to get their #OOTD.

Spending time on Instagram is now also a guide to find the newest places to eat and see the loveliest food before you’ve even looked up the menu. This interview series introduces fabulous influencers who live in Brighton or the surrounding area and take advantage of the best of what the city has to offer to create their content.

Next up, I am introducing Yasmin Syed, 19, known as Yasmin Stefanie. She is studying journalism at Bournemouth, but splits time between there and Brighton.

No. 1 tip for Instagram

Don't think there are any rules you need to follow or any aesthetics you need to conform to - just share what you want!

Share the love

@bexrobb and @izzymariehill are such style queens and my Sussex gals @tiaspaige and @marbleousfood are my faves

Favourite piece of equipment

Lightroom! I way prefer the app to the desktop version, but I got the full Adobe using my student discount and it's so worth it!

How did you start as an influencer?

When I was something mad like 10 or 11 years old I actually made a fashion blog which is still somewhere online to this day. I made loads of Youtube accounts on and off from year six all the way through high school, but I started my current blog three years ago in the Summer between GCSEs and A Levels. However, I never took it seriously until starting my journalism degree last year!

Tell me a bit more about yourself !

I go to Bournemouth Uni, but I'm never away from home for more than three weeks at a time! I'm in my second year of studying multimedia journalism. It's great because so much stuff I learn can help with my blog, but also annoying because I have to split my ideas between my journalism assignments and my actual blog posts.

What do you love about living in Brighton?

So much stuff, I don't think I realised how much I loved it until I moved away for uni… Just little things like the feel it has, how generally easygoing and accepting people are and how diverse it is. I love that it has got all the good things a city should have, but it's also more chill and by the sea.

Best places to shop in Brighton?

I love the Urban Outfitters in Brighton more than anything. Even the massive ones on Oxford Street in London or Fifth Avenue in New York have nothing on the Brighton one! It just really works in Brighton more than any other place I've found it in.

Favourite place to eat in Brighton?

VIP does the best pizza, it's my fave thing to Deliveroo! I love Meat Liquor, too and SIX in Hove, actually, (where I technically live, not Brighton!) is an all-rounder. I also can't not mention The Plant Room. They do the BEST coffee ever and everyone who works there is so lovely!
Thanks to Yasmin for taking the time to answer my questions. Make sure to check out her Instagram as well.
